PDRA brings us current and updated information on industry subjects that many people are thinking about. And, it brings us great connections. I was recently traveling in Wisconsin and stopped in one of the PDRA member’s stores. They had some really wonderful store displays, and I took pictures so I can try to figure out how I can incorporate those ideas into what I do in my own store.
The most important thing I’ve seen them do is provide professional training. I can tell you firsthand that every person I have on my paint counter has been certified through the paint and coatings course. I’m encouraging my employees [to take other courses], they are all pretty comprehensive. With that course, you get them up to speed in half the time it would otherwise take.
…the PDRA leadership and staff are like some of your best friends. The PDRA staff is always extremely knowledgeable & shares important industry trends that help us craft our marketing strategies. Additionally, a huge asset has been the advertising & editorial support we’ve received with PDR Magazine – it has increased our prestige and place in the finishing industry. We know that some of the very best marketing dollars we spend with PDRA helps us to broadcast our company message and story to new and existing customers.
I am appreciative of the value offered by the PDRA’s educational programs, that is why we joined. We wanted our employees to utilize the training online. We’ve also found that PDRA offers a lot of different types useful information, a lot of things that we now use in the store. Plus I am a huge fan of the magazine!
