The most important thing I’ve seen them do is provide professional training. I can tell you firsthand that every person I have on my paint counter has been certified through the paint and coatings course. I’m encouraging my employees [to take other courses], they are all pretty comprehensive. With that course, you get them up to speed in half the time it would otherwise take.

Take advantage of the Training and Education that the PDRA provides.

PDRA brings us current and updated information on industry subjects that many people are thinking about. And, it brings us great connections. I was recently traveling in Wisconsin and stopped in one of the PDRA member’s stores. They had some really wonderful store displays, and I took pictures so I can try to figure out how I can incorporate those ideas into what I do in my own store.

We joined the PDRA to be a part of the association and to take advantage of the helpful programs they offer. One of the programs we’ve already signed up for is the Quarters Annual Marketing Program.
